November 30, 2007 Tech Tour

In 2007, the Capital Area IT Council partnered with “Linking Lansing and U” and MSU Career Services Network to present “Tech Tours”—a unique “live, work, play” experience promoting our area’s vast career and community offerings to the next generation of IT professionals.

The first “Tech Tour” took place on Friday, November 30, 2007 from 12:30-6:30pm and featured Lansing’s downtown.  26 CS and IT students from Michigan State University spent an afternoon touring local IT businesses, checking outsome trendy housing options, and experiencing our community’s vibrant social scene—all as part of this unique career exploration program.

The Downtown Lansing “Tech Tour” included stops at VisionCreative, Lansing Board of Water & Light, Spartan Internet Consulting and Sparrow Health System—as well as a tour of the Arbaugh Lofts and a socializing/networking event at “The Firm” where industry representatives were on hand to talk one-on-one with students.
