Through the “Adopt-A-School” initiative, representatives from local IT companies will be assigned k-12 schools, to serve as representatives of the Capital Area IT Council. The program provides a framework for the IT professional to engage with parent-teacher groups, counselors, educators and administrators about “IT Pathways” and career opportunities locally. We will promote local companies' exciting work, happening here in Mid-Michigan

Education opportunities:
We can recommend classes for students to take at their current schools as well as supplemental courses at LCC, MSU, and ITEC L ansing.

Early identification of students interested in the IT field:
We will introduce and engage students to get directly involved with local IT companies through job shadows, internships and free trainin g opportunities.
