The September 12 meeting was the inaugural membership event for the Capital Area IT Council.  There were over 100 people in attendance representing industry, education, economic development and local government.  The IT Council released the preliminary findings from its “employer workforce development survey” and provided an overview of some of the new programs and services being proposed by it’s Organizing Committee.  Interim President Bill Hamilton from TechSmith Corporation provided the keynote address and helped facilitate a panel discussion about some of the workforce development challenges facing our local IT industry.
