The May 19 meeting featured a presentation onUsability/User Experience issues. An expert panel which included Chris Bachelder, Interaction Designer with TechSmith Corporation and founding member of the local IXDA group; Sarah Swierenga, Director, Usability/Accessibility Research & Consulting for MSU; and Amy Montgomery, Usability Specialist for the State of Michigan's User Experience Team described how area businesses are leveraging usability principles to improve their products/services for increasing their competitive advantage, and how local companies can benefit from resources like the Usability and Accessibility Lab at Michigan State University and local chapter of the IXDA, a growing organization focused on the needs of the international interaction design community.
